When Selling your Home Paint to your buyer, not yourself!

I do a lot of Home Staging consultations for people who are wanting to sell their homes, and want it to look it’s best when it goes on the market.  One of the first things I tell them is “I am here to help you stage your home to sell it.  I am not here to do an Interior Design consultation.  Anything I tell you to change, move, take away or paint is not a reflection on your personal taste. It is about creating a home almost any buyer would want to purchase.” There are many basic things you can do, on your own, to sell your home here are a couple:

  1. Declutter – take anything out of your home you will not need during the time your selling + more.  All collections, family photos, personal decorative items NEED to go.
  2. Paint a neutral color.  If your daughters room is bright pink…paint it.  If one wall in your kitchen is red….paint it.
  3. Repair, repair, repair….don’t leave the holes in the walls or the wires where you never put up the lamp you were going to put up…. We all do it :)
  4. Call a professional home stager!
